Aircraft components and LRUs from Satair
Line Replaceable Units (LRU) are modular components and usually sealed units of an aircraft, which are designed to be replaced within a short time without using very specialized tools. This means that the aircraft can quickly return to service, while the failed LRU is being tested and repaired.
A Line Maintenance Part (LMP) is a sub-component of an LRU, which may be replaced without removing the LRU from the aircraft. Depending on its complexity, an LMP can be repairable or expendable. A list of applicable LMPs can be found in the Recommended Spare Parts List (RSPL).
